  British Toy Entrepreneur and

The Greenest Toy in the World!

A British toy entrepreneur has launched the Crazee Carbon Cube as the 'Greenest Toy in the World' and it’s already available to buy in time for Christmas.

Danny Bamping based in Devon and owner of Crazee Thingz is claiming the distinction of producing a version of the hugely successful puzzle cube that has the smallest carbon footprint of any item in Santa's sack of presents.

The new Crazee Cube, launched to coincide with the Copenhagen climate change conference is only available ONLINE directly from the company at www.crazeethingz.com or www.hamleys.com

Four years ago Mr Bamping took his original Bedlam cube to the Dragons' Den and after the offer of a six figure deal with two of the Dragons, rejected the deal and secured his own independent financing. Since then he has established his own UK manufacturing base, added leading international business partners and developed retail, promotional, wholesale and internet global sales, securing many awards on the way.

In 2007 he decided to move production from China to Britain and earlier this year changed the name from Bedlam to Crazee Cube – to become the leading range of the company’s 30 other ‘Crazee Thingz’.

Mr Bamping said: “We created the Crazee Carbon Cube to highlight the brand change, our new Crazee products and to illustrate what we have achieved by switching production to the UK. More than 90% of toys are made in the Far East, over time we intend to make more and more toys and games in Britain.

“Amid the economic gloom, we believe our decision to make our products here combined with cutting back on transport miles, and using recyclables gives us the right to boast that we've created the world's most eco-friendly toy and the one with the lowest carbon footprint.”

The Carbon Cube is made in Plymouth close to the company's offices and the limited edition is only available on authorised websites until 2010 when other retailers in addition to Hamleys will have the opportunity to offer an environmentally friendly 'direct to consumer' post service.

“We already supply tens of thousands of customers directly through e-commerce so we have initiated a scheme that will allow other retailers to satisfy their customers' without the need to pre-stock, pack and add unnecessary transportation,” added Mr Bamping.
