     Greenest toy in the World - a British first

A successful games and puzzles business that launched when a young entrepreneur became a Dragons' Den slayer has now created what he believes to be the most environmentally-friendly toy in the world to mark the expanding company's new name – Crazee Thingz.

The innovative international best-selling Bedlam Cube has now been re-branded as the ‘Flagship Toy’ of the new Crazee Thingz range, with the introductory Crazee Carbon Cube claiming the title of Greenest Toy in the World.

 “Amid the economic gloom, we believe our switch to making our products from China to the UK combined with cutting back on transport miles, and using recyclables gives us the right to boast that we've probably created the world's most eco-friendly toy and the one with the lowest Carbon Footprint,” said Mr Bamping.

        ….and it is directly drop shipped to the customer from the Plymouth base less than a mile from where it was made.

The Crazee Carbon Cube is literally made ‘yards away’ from the Crazee Thingz HQ in Plymouth –; The Crazee Carbon cube will NOT be sold in shops and the company is planning to offer retailers a postal service – so that the product goes directly to the end consumer.

“Because we supply tens of thousands of customers directly through our existing e-commerce set up; we felt that the best way to allow other retailers to stock the Crazee Carbon Cube was to allow them to sell the product on their websites; without the need for them having to stock it, pack it and ship it. We don’t have to send it to them and the product then only makes one journey and that’s direct to the customer. We are launching with Hamleys first and then in the New Year rolling this unique service out to all our other retail and ecommerce customers”

He said: “Our soaring export sales as Crazee Thingz led to us simplifying production under one brand. Since we announced the change to Crazee Cube at the beginning of the year the demand for the last of the old bedlam cube range at retailers and on our website has been tremendous -- second-hand items have now doubled in price on eBay.”

He added. “Bedlam is a very old English word; which anyone under 23 has probably never heard or knows what it means. Selling Bedlam into the states, Australia and many European countries was a struggle as it didn’t translate well and had a ‘lack of meaning’”

Mr Bamping took the Bedlam cube to the Dragons' Den and after originally accepting a six figure deal with two of the Dragons; he later walked away and secured a bank loan. Since then he has secured his own UK manufacturing base, added leading international business partners and developed retail, wholesale and internet global sales securing many awards on the way.

 

Working with Tate & Lyle’, we have created a puzzle out of the oldest brand packaging in the world and the longest unchanged Brand in Britain. The Lyle’s Golden Syrup Tin has become a Crazee Puzzle Tin. Originally Lyle’s were looking for a unique corporate gift and found one in our idea for a Crazee Tin, but we also recognised the opportunity to bring this great product to a wider audience. A licence agreement has been put in place that allows us to sell the puzzle to retail and trade and thus optimizing the potential from this wonderful, unique & unusual puzzle.

 

In the last year, Crazee Thingz has been busy negotiating contracts with some of the biggest and most recognizable brands in the World. Crazee Thingz is working exclusively with IML the owners of the global patent for the puzzle giving us the future opportunity to extend the licence further afield.

 

The products appeal to adults and children and are expected to be a big hit. Don’t tell the children but the puzzles are also educational and brain stimulating, they improve logical thinking and don’t involve a computer screen!

 

The mechanism inside of the Crazee rotating products allows us to turn any 3D object into a puzzle allowing us to use the business model of the Lyle’s agreement with any well known, well loved brand and sell it for combined benefit of the brand owner, ourselves and the consumer.
